A light Sauce- full of flavour!
The organic version of GEFRO’s dark sauce rarefies, thickens, seasons and rounds off heavy meat dishes with a punch of flavour. Even served on its own, it makes a lovely sauce. Add some wine, cream, mushrooms or spices as desired to season the dark sauce.
Tip: for a change, substitute meat with some veggie patties.
As a sauce:
- add 1 heaped tablespoon (approx. 25 g) of GEFRO Dark Gravy to 1/4 litre warm water and whisk.
- Briefly bring to the boil and enjoy your gourmet sauce.
TIP: use part milk instead of all water. The more milk you use, the creamier the soup will be – and with only a few calories.

Just a little powder is all it takes to create a delicious gourmet sauce. It’s quick and easy. Depending on your personal taste, use wine, cream, onions, mushrooms or GEFROs highly aromatic Spice Blend ‘Pepper Mix with Garlic & Herbs’ to add zest to the GEFRO ORGANIC Dark Sauce.
The best part is that GEFRO ORGANIC Dark Sauce tastes good on its own and also when used to thicken, rarefy or season existing stocks or sauces.
Fish connoisseurs will also gladly go for this sauce, because in addition to rounding off robust meat dishes, its well-balanced flavour is the perfect addition to refined fish dishes, such as pike-perch fillet on a bed of leek with lemon dill sauce.
This versatile sauce is also a fabulous way to add flavour to side dishes, such as pasta, potatoes and rice. GEFRO’s Organic Dark Gravy is also suitable as a base for vegan sauces.
