Once you’ve tried GEFRO’s vegan, soya-based Goulash, with its hearty sweet pepper sauce, you’ll see that good, savoury goulash can be made without meat. Classic goulash ingredients, such as onions, sweet pepper, carrots, herbs and spices give this vegan goulash its characteristic, great flavour.
Whether enjoyed as a meal on its own, or as a hearty goulash soup, - flavour and consistency are exactly as a juicy, thick goulash should be. Perfect for serving with rustic brown bread, or potatoes, pasta or rice.
Stir 3 heaped tablespoons (approx. 45g granules) into cold water. Simmer for 5 minutes, then enjoy!
Tip: Goulash belongs to the foods that taste even better when re-heated. The sauce becomes thicker and the flavour more intense.

Hungary, Puszta, Goulash
Hungary’s steppe landscape is the origin of this stew. “Gulyás hús“ or „cattle herders’ meat” was prepared in the Puszta region in large pots over open fire and was seasoned with diverse ingredients, sweet pepper being foremost. Originally the food of farmers and cattle herders, the ragout rapidly evolved into a much-loved, trendy meal. In time, Hungary’s neighbouring country Austria incorporated this meal into its own menu and played a role in further spreading its popularity.
