A fine sauce is the epitome of good food

Really good cooking can be recognised by the sauce. A dish is given its own individual taste when topped off by a sauce. The enormous variety of different sauces speaks for their popularity and shows how essential sauces are to cooking.

It used to be that a good sauce was reputed to be heavy and therefore very rich (fat). This however is no longer the case. New sauces are lighter and finer in taste. Whether or not you consciously want to eat healthily or you have to follow a diet due to health restrictions – there’s no need to do it without a delicious sauce!

Sauces are available in a fantastic variety of flavours, that are immediately associated with certain dishes or even countries. Hot sauces go well with Latin American dishes, such as chilli con carne or tapas. Sweet-and-sour sauces are great with Indian cuisine and one of the most popular sauces of all, Bolognese sauce, obviously brings Italy to mind.

And the best part is that all variations can be made using a few basic sauces. So whipping up a good, high-quality sauce isn’t complicated or time-consuming. With a few simple tricks, like using herbs, a dash of red wine or sherry or some milk or cream for flavour, you can add your own touch of sophistication to your sauce. There’s nothing standing in the way of culinary delight!

We at GEFRO place great value on using nutritionally balanced recipes when making our products. That’s why we do not use any meat extracts, animal fats or hydrogenated fats. As a result, our products are not only vegetable-based (some with lactose) but also do not contain trans-fatty acids, which according to the latest scientific knowledge can cause vascular disease.
